• FUTURE SCIENCE LEADERS PROGRAM ASSISTANT

    Sciencenter Museum

    Ithaca, New York

    September 2025 - Present

  • The Sciencenter is a nationally recognized museum, welcoming over 100,000 visitors annually in Ithaca, New York, and reaching more than 1.5 million people worldwide through its traveling exhibitions and outreach programs.

The museum has been accredited by the American Alliance of Museums (AAM) since 2000, and is a member of the Association of Science-Technology Centers (ASTC) as well as the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM).

The Sciencenter’s Future Science Leaders (FSL) program meets in bi-weekly sessions, empowering 6th – 8th grade students to explore STEM, make new friends, and participate in real scientific research. Through hands-on activities, education, exhibit development, and guest interactions, participants develop leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills, fostering curiosity and preparing them to become future leaders in the scientific community.

As a volunteer for the FSL Program, I assist the FSL Program Manager in all aspects of program delivery:

    • Leading games, icebreakers, and team-based challenges.
    • Supervising small-group activities and trainings for program participants.
    • Gathering, preparing, and organizing materials.
    • Supporting FSL members in engaging with public audiences, for example, during animal encounter volunteer shifts.
    • Performing other museum duties as interested or assigned.
